Oops, I lied.

I know I said I wouldn't post until I got back to school... but then I read this, a post about how we should not feel guilty because of what we eat. I know that a few of my readers have shared with me that they also suffer from weight related issues, and I really found Katie's blog post inspiring. I highly encourage you to read it, and I feel like everyone can relate to it (^ω^)

In lieu of reading that post, I decided to add another page to my blog: Burning Calories. On it, I have posted the guidelines I follow to try and lead a healthier life, and a quick reference section to my weigh-in posts.

My opinions have changed recently on dieting and "being healthy". I've realized a few things. Firstly, that I'm not looking for a diet, per se, but rather... a lifestyle change. I need to adopt a new mind set about eating, exercising, and living well. I also realized that "being healthy" is such a broad term! To me, it means that I want to be strong and confident in all aspects of my life: mentally, physically, emotionally, and otherwise. And finally, and maybe the most important thing I realized, is that no one's diet and eating habits are better than anyone else's. It's all about what works for you. I honestly believe that every single person has struggled with some kind of health/weight/food issue at some point in their life, and if they feel like veganism or the soup diet or taking up a new sport will help them... they have my support. Now if someone turns to something dangerous, well that's a different story. But I'm trying to stay positive here, guys!

In regards to diet and exercise, I think trying new things is awesome. If zumba worked for your roommate, it might work for you, too! And maybe someone you know cut out red meat, and that could also work in your favor. You'll never know until you try, right? And if it doesn't, then on to the next thing( ̄ー ̄)

Okay. Enough PSA, lol. So I've recently been eating chicken because I am lacking some serious protein, and seitan/tempeh is just not cutting it for me anymore (although I do like it, still). I found out that vegetarians/vegans who sometimes eat meat/animal products/etc are called "flexitarians". Since I can't really be counted as strictly vegetarian anymore, I guess I'll be "defining" my diet by this new term! Oh, Chick-fil-a... how I missed you!! ♡ (´ε` )

And totally unrelated: I bought the cutest Stitch scissors on Ebay yesterday. Such a dangerous website. My mom bought me a Batman cup and some Disney Princess cups today, too. I love cups. I have so many. Curse you, internet, and your accessible shopping!

  2. Oh you're so right...not every diet works for every girl/guy. Mine is the best example. So many people were telling me to stop that 'shit' and try something different 'cause it didn't work on them/their aunt/their granny/their whatsoever.
Well for me it works...and I'm happy about loosing weight constantly ♥

Ugh I could never resist meat...especially chicken aso...One of my best friends is a vegeterian and I CAN'T understand her at all, haha~

Show us your Stitch scissors & the cup collection! ♥
